No free returns

The shoes this company makes are often great, super comfy and I had quite a few over the years and worn them all the time. They are trendy and often very well made. The bad thing is, whilst in a lockdown and people ordering online, with no possible free returns to the shop (!!) you have to pay for the returns. (Not many companies are this harsh.)Fair enough. But I didn’t think I will pay for 3 pairs of shoes sending back £10. If at least one pair did fit, I could justify sending another couple of them back from my pocket. But this way it felt like a complete waste of money and energy. Company probably feels the same therefore we have to pay...The 3 boxes also came in a tight plastic bag which obviously was hard to reuse when sending them back. It’s almost like they don’t think there will be returns? For this reason I wouldn’t buy online from them anymore. Shoes are quite tricky to buy online and with no free return guarantee I wouldn’t give it a shot again. It’s too expensive to risk in case they don’t fit.

APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I love shoes and this company do sell nice shoes BUT they do not pay return postage under any circumstances, even when they should show some discretion. This is stated in their terms and conditions but I had cause to complain when 3 pairs arrived in 1 very tightly packaged bag, which was badly damaged, I was lucky to receive it at all !!I had to return them all 3 pairs and as it was only possible to fit 1 pair in the original packaging contacted Customer services to complain about the packaging and in view of it costing more to send back 2 parcels instead of 1, I requested the postage be paid as a gesture of goodwill, on at least 1 of the packages because it was going to cost me more in postage which I didn't think was fair.I was staggered by how my complaint was treated !!They point blank refused to either look into the matter or offer to pay the postage costs on even 1 of the parcels. The retail industry has had a difficult 12 months and there is a lot of competition with many companies offering free delivery and returns. The staff at Moda in Pelle clearly don't understand what good customer service is and this is why I am sharing my experience to highlight this. There are so many companies that give excellent service and it is these companies we should be giving our business to.AVOID MODA IN PELLE

Expensive returns

Most internet retailers charge a return cost of about £3.50. Moda in Pelle tells the customer to use a tracked service. The cheapest version of a tracked service at the Post Office for one pair of shoes that I returned was £8.95. I think that Moda in Pelle should look at how the return charge can be decreased and find an option that is more comparable with competitors.

Appalling customer service

Appallingly. I bought style Elissy. Sole split on one shoe and came adrift from other. I was expected to pay postage to return them. ????They told me not suitable for cold weather wear??? Isn’t that what you wear closed in shoes for??Also said leather is not waterproof. I bought said shoes thinking they were leather but oh dear, they’re not. They are PVC. Be very cautious when buying as details of composition not stated nor country of manufacture. Will never buy from them again.

Who pays for returns these days??

Who pays for returns these days??, I was shocked to have to pay for a return as their sizing is all over the place. Will never purchase again having to pay for returns when you can’t go in stores.Ridiculous.

Great shoes, bad sizing

I love this brand and the quality is great - the shoes last years BUT the sizing is very all over the place. I recent bought a pair of boots, a pair of brogues and a pair of trainers all in a 38. The brogues fit perfectly, the boots are too big and the trainers are tiny! I definitely need a 39 in their trainers and I’m always always a 37.5 in Clarks and everything else. It’s so odd

Avoid

Avoid! You have to pay to return your item (I paid almost £7 to send Signed For). You do not get refunded the postage. Also be aware that when you return your order it goes into a queue for up to 10 days. Then....you eventually receive an email to say you have been refunded BUT have to wait up to 10 days for the money to go into your account! Disgusting that this company feels this is acceptable!

Dreadful company with poor quality products

I would give this company zero stars if I could. I had used them a number of years ago to purchase over the knee boots at a cost of £250. Arrived, they fitted, but when I took them off, the insole lifted in one boot. I contacted the company, who sent me a free returns label but told me to just order again. I did, second pair arrived with the same fault on the other boot. I was particularly mad, customer services did apologise but refused to have the next order checked before sending them out to me. I really loved the boots so I jumped on the merry go round again. Third pair (and the last according to the website) arrived and both boots had the same fault. Customer services suggested I just keep them, I had to explain the insole would move through use, scrunch up and leave me blistered on my soles. I was quoted £15 to have them professionally stuck down (the boots were very long and not so straight forward, not forgetting my time and petrol to go get this done) but I was only offered £10 off! For faulty boots! So I returned them, really bitter at the fact I wasn’t getting the boots and the company clearly did not care about the extra costs to me to return their faulty boots. These costs include my time, my petrol to drive to a shop and copious amounts of sellotape. Fast forward a number of years and I thought they would have got their act together. WRONG! Ordered a pair of boots, £75 (apparently £150 value) and when they arrived, I lifted the right boot out to hear a strange noise. Something was trapped in the inside of the heel, it actually sounded like I was shaking an aerosol spray paint can as I walked. I emailed them and offered me £10. Which is a joke considering the noise it made, no sneaking around for me. I asked could I return them for them to repair as I didn’t want to accept £10 off as 1) I know that would not cover the cost and 2) there was a chance the cobbler may damage it and I wouldn’t wear boots that bore damage and I couldn’t then send them back. So I had to return them and no others left in stock.I should also warn potential customers that these boots had already been returned, as I checked the website daily for over a week before that 1 pair came back in stock, which was then shipped to me.Thought it was my bad luck, so I ordered 2 different pairs. They arrived, low and behold both had faults again. The tan boots had a dye stain on outside of the boot which hadn’t been smoothed into the leather enough. So it looked like a dirty big stain with lighter streaks either side because of poor workmanship. Second pair of black boots had ruched detailing. One boot had a massive dip in the ruching than the other. There was also excess material at the front of it, so when you put both boots on, they actually looked like they were 2 different boots. So I’m back to returning these. Yes I get the faux apology, but this is now 6 pairs of allegedly high end boots that have zero quality checks and have some sort of issue with them. I’ve honestly had better quality and consistency from primark. This company does not give a toss about costs you accrue when returning their products. It does not value your time either and it basically feels like they flip you the bird with refusal to check boots prior to dispatch and fake apologies for the hassle they put you through or the ridiculous “goodwill gesture” to rectify a fault in their boots! They could save themselves a fortune if they put simple measures in place to prevent faulty boots being dispatched which are ultimately returned, plus they would have a better customer base which would justify the prices they charge. Just avoid this brand and save yourself any hassle, I can guarantee the items they send you will not be up to scratch and you will have to return them and you will be left infuriated on the never ending, unpleasant cycle with them.

I ordered various trainers as wasnt sure of the fit. The order was over 100 so just assumed as it was free delivery the returns would be free as well. I got a shock when I had to return both pairs at my cost. Even the local small high street outfits provide free return. Because of the weight I had to pay a fortune as return postage. Don't buy unless you are absolutely sure.Very bad customer service

Best customer service I have ever experienced

I don’t think I’ve ever come across such excellent customer service. I had ordered a fedora and when it arrived there was a minor issue so I contacted the company, they immediately sent a new one (next day delivery) and organised for a courier to pick up the original one. An absolute delight to engage with this company and my fedora is gorgeous! Thanks guys!
